Sols Interlinked

In his upcoming debut album, Eden pairs each movement of Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin with his original arrangements of works by Ryuichi Sakamoto. A blend of inspiration informs this project: the past is given a second life through our memories, explored through the lens of French-Asian mutual musical fascination and influenced by the grief and joy of science fiction film classics Solaris and Blade Runner.

Paradise Lost Tetraptych

Eden mapped the rich mythology of Milton’s poem onto the Liszt Sonata, combining 160 pieces of surrealist artwork by Spanish artist Pablo Auladell and live performance into an immersive epic on the hope for life with dignity, justice and love.

Satan infiltrates the dreams of a sleeping Eve. Battle ensues when he is discovered by the archangel Michael.

The archangel Raphael comes to warn Adam against Lucifer, now Satan. He tells Adam about Lucifer’s fall from heaven.

Satan convinces Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. The fugue suggests his twisting arguments.

Satan boasts of his success to the host of demons in Hell, but they are all turned into serpents as divine retribution.

Lullaby and Signature

Eden curated 5 poems by Bert Meyers and edited them into texts for 2 songs. Allusions to technology, nature, and the human body come together in jazz-inspired songs that inspire human agency and challenge feelings of inevitable decay.

Written by pianist and composer A Bu for Eden Chen and soprano-pianist Chelsea Guo.

The poetry of Bert Meyers is available on his website.
